Casey Young did a lot of Synclavier work on certain tracks on the Bad album. All you gotta do is check the credits. He is in there. I met him in Phoenix, Arizona, back in 1995. Saw all his gear, including his Synclavier. Boy did he have almost everything. Casey also lived and toured with Vangelis for over a year back in 1987 and 1988. Casey also toured with Yes around 1983/84, playing keyboards in place of Rick Wakeman.

I thought Chris Currell did all the programming on Bad. In fact, he worked on a day to day basis with the late, great, Michael Jackson. He played the Synclavier via SynthAxe as well.

I never heard of Casey Young being involved as programmer on BAD. But maybe I’m wrong…

Hi!
A lot of the mentioned Synclavier specs are true!
The one which is definitely NOT true is the ‘light-pen for touch screen’ option.
This is not a Synclavier option but a Fairlight one.
I’m still using a Synclavier 6400 in my studio.

I’ve touched a Synclavier a few times in my life:

- Twice in 1995 at Casey Young’s studio in Phoenix (Casey Young did all the Synclavier programming on MJ’s Bad album; toured with YES; programmed all Vangelis’ synths for his 1987 Direct album). I met Casey in Phoenix at synth music store called Synthony Music.

- At Post Modern Sound pro-audio post-production studio in downtown Vancouver. They have several Synclaviers over there.
