The DutchRock album was released in 1983. Madam Butterfly was released in 1984 as a single first and was then released in 1984/1985 in Malcolm's "Fans" album. DutchRock album featured tracks such as "Buffalo Gals" and "Double Dutch" ... with rap beats and scratching, featuring The World Supreme Team.

Thanks for pointing that out. Now I remember having a cassette tape of Fans from way back then but completely forgot about it. To the best of my recollection, I didn’t like the album that much, except for very few tracks and Madam Butterfly being one of them. Fans certainly wasn’t as kick-ass as McLaren’s Dutch Rock album.

Again, thanks for the props you give me on this site. I’ll do my very best to keep it going. I hope at some point that other music historians and collectors would want to contribute to this blog.

Great blog you got going here, i enjoy every post. In addition to this post i would like to link to a wikipedia entry about the singers behind Madame Butterfly.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fans_%28Malcolm_McLaren_album%29
And to be fully complete, the track comes from the album "Fans". Keep up the good work on your excellent site.
